Problem

IOD set out to crack the crowded outstaffing market with a brand‑new platform—starting from zero brand equity, zero codebase, and no user base. Early beta analytics exposed critical gaps:

  • 0 % profile completions (no onboarding flow)
  • 2‑day average time‑to‑hire (industry norm)
  • Weak trust signals that stalled client–developer engagement gaps risked compliance and user frustration.

User Behavior Analysis

As Lead Product  Designer I was accountable for:

  • Architecting and shipping the MVP end‑to‑end within 5 months.
  • Forging a cohesive brand identity appealing to both clients and developers.
  • Managing design talent (mentoring graphic and junior UI/UX designers) and keeping delivery on track.
  • Driving onboarding and matching KPIs to ≥ 50 % profile completion and −30 % time‑to‑hire.

Solution

To fix that, I built and demoed three radically different pricing concepts:

  1. Ground‑Up Research & MVP Scoping:
    • Competitive teardown of five outstaffing rivals to spot best practices and whitespace.
    • 20 stakeholder interviews (hiring managers, developers, legal) to map “zero‑trust” requirements.
    • Defined the core journey: Landing → Sign‑up → Profile → Search & Match → Chat & Contract.
  1. Brand Identity & Design Leadership:
    • Created IOD’s visual identity from scratch: logo, palette, typography, component‑based design system.
    • Directed and reviewed a dedicated graphic designer’s output for brand consistency.
  1. Onboarding & Matching Redesign:
    • Designed “Smart Match” cards: top developer picks with skills, rate, time‑zone fit.
  1. Trust‑Building Features:
    • Talent cards with verified badges, testimonial carousels, mini‑case snapshots.
    • Secure in‑platform chat + templated contracts for legal and payment assurance.
  1. Prototyping & Iteration:
    • Built high‑fidelity Figma prototypes;
    • A/B‑tested two matching‑algorithm UIs to maximize recommendation accuracy and comprehension.

Results

  • Profile Completions: 78 % in Month 1 (vs. 0 %; target 70 %).

 

  • Time‑to‑Hire: Cut from 12 days to 6.5 days (−46 %).

 

  • Engagement: “Request Interview” clicks +63 %
